NSGP DIY Kit

Apply with confidence.
Without the consultant fee.

A complete self-guided system for houses of worship and nonprofits: walk your own site, document threats credibly, build a budget that traces to your findings, and print your application documents. 13 documents in editable Word and print-ready PDF plus a cost estimator spreadsheet.

The method

Your application, step by step.

The kit walks your team through the same eight-step method a consultant uses, delivered as editable Word documents, print-ready PDFs, and a cost estimator spreadsheet.

Step 1

Organization profile

Attendance, mission, programs, and project team entered once and used everywhere.

Step 2

Site walk

89 items across 12 zones, rated Adequate, Needs Improvement, or Missing on your phone as you walk.

Step 3

Finding-to-Funding

Every gap linked to sample IJ language and the cost category that fixes it. You rank your top ten.

Step 4

Threat log

National, regional, and site incidents with sources, turned into a factual threat summary.

Step 5

Budget builder

Sourced price ranges, line items tied to findings, and a live check against the $200,000 cap.

Steps 6–8

Draft, score, print

IJ draft assembled from your inputs, a reviewer-style scorecard, and print-ready documents.

Questions

About the kit.

Will this work outside Virginia?

Yes. NSGP is a national program and the Investment Justification structure is the same in every state. Some examples reference Virginia; confirm your own state's portal and deadlines with your State Administrative Agency.

Does a self-conducted assessment compete with a professional one?

A thorough self-assessment using the same method a consultant uses can score well, especially for a first-time applicant at a single site. If your threat picture is acute or you have several sites, a professional assessment is the better choice.

Where does our information go?

Your site walk, findings, threat log, and budget are saved in your own browser and never sent to SafetySync. Your account stores only your name, email, and license.

Can we upgrade to a professional assessment later?

Yes. Contact us from the email tied to your purchase and we'll credit your kit fee toward an assessment engagement.

Will the kit get us funded?

No kit, course, or consultant can promise a grant award. The kit gives you a proven method; your threat profile, findings, and the competition in your state decide the outcome.

Start with the eligibility check.

Five minutes, no account needed. You'll know where you stand and what to do next.
