Insider Risk Programs
The people with keys, passwords, and trust can cause the most harm. SafetySync builds insider risk programs that help you spot concerning behavior early and respond the right way.
Built from federal counterterrorism and investigative experience, then sized for organizations without a full-time security staff.
Why insider risk deserves its own program
Cameras and locked doors stop outsiders. They do little against an employee, volunteer, or contractor who already has access. Theft, fraud, sabotage, data loss, and workplace violence often start with someone on the inside.
Warning signs usually appear before harm occurs. Most organizations miss them because no one is trained to notice, no one knows where to report, and no one owns the response. A program fixes all three.
What we build
Program charter and policy. Written authority, scope, roles, and privacy safeguards so the program is fair, lawful, and defensible.
Vetting, access, and offboarding. Onboarding checks, role-based access, and exit procedures for staff, volunteers, and contractors.
Behavioral indicators. Plain-language guidance on concerning behaviors, so supervisors recognize warning signs without profiling.
Reporting and response. A confidential reporting path, a small multidisciplinary review team, and clear steps from first report to resolution.
Training and tabletop exercises. Staff awareness training and leadership exercises that test the program before a real case does.
Our method
Aligned with ISO 22316.
ISO 22316 is the international guidance standard for organizational resilience. Insider risk is a resilience problem: it is managed through culture, leadership, and information sharing as much as through security controls.
We assess your program against the standard's nine attributes and show where each one strengthens or weakens your ability to prevent and respond to insider harm.
ISO 22316 provides guidance and does not certify organizations. SafetySync is not affiliated with ISO.
